The great financial collapse may be covered over by the coming Syrian conflict which is an obvious ruse. While Conspiracy Cafe deals with the geo-political issues, we can't leave you on your own. There may be questions you have about the issues of the day. If you've been with us a long time, remember our Christmas special on surviving a nuclear calamity. If the unthinkable ever happened, you'd have to be everything. Co-operation is the key. We pray we never get to that point.

"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the Faith and is worse than an unbeliever." 1 Timothy 5:8

Bugging out was even spoken of in the days of Noah. Preparation was clearly understood. The birds did it. The bees did it. What's stopping you?

One man leaves the city life behind to build a cheap off grid log cabin and homestead in the Canadian wilderness, including a log home, an outdoor kitchen, an outhouse, a woodshed and a sauna bathhouse. Building mostly with hand tools, Shawn James harvests building materials from the forests north of Toronto, Canada and crafts them into functional tools and shelters using traditional woodworking tools and methods. He practices bushcraft and survival skills every day, including fire starting, tree identification and harvesting, wild edible foraging, fishing, hunting, camping in the summer and winter, travelling by canoe and snowshoe, navigation and water collection and purification.

Continue watching in 2019 as Shawn finishes the sauna, plants a forest garden for fruit and vegetables, builds an underground root cellar, ice house and cheese cave, a timber frame workshop and a remote hunt camp closer to fish and game.

  • Agafia. Hermit Surviving in Russian Wild...

Agafia Karpovna Lykova (born 17 April 1944) is a Russian Old Believer, part of the Lykov family, who has lived alone in the Taiga for most of her life. She currently resides in the Western Sayan mountains, in the Republic of Khakassia. Lykova became a national phenomenon in the early 1980s when Vasily Peskov published articles about her family and their extreme isolation from the rest of society. Lykova is the sole surviving member of the family and has been mostly self-sufficient since 1988, when her father died. In 2014, she wrote a letter that was published online, requesting anyone to come to her home to be her helper as her "health is waning".

    Early life

Lykova was born in a hollowed out pine washtub in 1944 to Karp Osipovich Lykov and Akulina Lykova. She was their fourth child, and the second to be born in the Taiga.

Lykova lives 3,444 ft (1,050 m) up a remote mountainside in the Abakan Range, 150 mi (240 km) away from the nearest town. For the first 35 years of her life, Lykova did not have contact with anyone outside of her immediate family. Information about the outside world came from her father's stories and the family's Russian Orthodox Bible.

In the summer of 1978, a group of four geologists discovered the family by chance, while circling the area in a helicopter. The scientists reported that Lykova spoke a language “distorted by a lifetime of isolation” that sounded akin to a “slow, blurred cooing.” This unusual speech led to the misconception that Lykova was mentally disabled. Later, after observing her skill in hunting, cooking, sewing, reading and construction, this original misconception was revised. Peskov's book reports that Lykova's vocabulary expanded as she made further contact with the larger world, and he reports many of her uses of "unexpected" words in conversation.

In 70 years, Lykova has ventured out of the family settlement six times. The first time was in the 1980s, shortly after Vasily Peskov's articles about the family's isolation turned them into a national phenomenon. The Soviet Government paid for her to tour the Soviet Union for a month, during which time she saw planes, horses, cars and money for the first time. Since then, she has only left to seek medical treatment, visit distant relatives and to meet other Old Believers.

Lykova prefers her life in the Taiga to life in the larger towns or cities. She claims that the air and water outside of the Taiga makes her sick. She also said that she finds the busy roads frightening. In 2011 Agafia formally re-joined Belokrinitskaya branch of Russian Old Believers Orthodox Church during a visit by Metropolitam Korniliy (Titov) coincidental with her 69th birthday. In 2014, she wrote a letter that was published online, requesting anyone to come to her home to be her helper as her "health is waning". She claimed in that letter to have "a lump on [her] right breast", a possible sign that she has developed cancer.

In January 2016, it was reported that Lykova was airlifted to a hospital due to leg pain. Agafia was treated at a hospital in Tashtagol, and planned to return to the wilderness once emergency services were able to airlift her home.

Man comes off worst as he brawls in street with woman as stunned neighbours look on

Fight in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, took place in broad daylight in middle of street

Woman seen pinning a man down to the road with her knee on his chest

He then flips her over, before neighbours rush forward to break the pair up

This is the shocking moment a couple battled each other in a violent wrestling brawl in the middle of the street in front of stunned neighbours.

A woman is seen pinning a man down to the road with her knee on his chest, before he manages to pull her over and get on top.

He gets her in a choke hold and nearly rips her top off before several neighbours of pair, from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire, intervene.

She's pretty good. However, let gravity help out. She should have knee dropped on him. Put all your weight on the aggressor. A good twist of the wrist or snap the fingers would have kept her in the win. They don't expect the counter attack. So give it all you got. Make sure something don't work too well.

He overpowers her. She moves for the face. The ear pull helps. The eye gouge incapacitates.

There are some men in the world.

There's a lot who bemoan Muslims. When the posse forms all are included.

We don't know what happened exactly or why. It could be she was being robbed of her phone, but violence can occur swiftly. Your reaction must too.

Take your family off-road camping for less than half the price of a base RV.

Recreational vehicles are comfortable, cool, and everything, but are often too expensive for the average adventure seeker. Even entry-level offerings could come close to the $100,000 mark and that’s definitely not a price everyone can afford. But don’t lose faith – there is one vehicle on the market that fits even more tight budgets.

In fact, the Bruder EXP-4 is not a motorized vehicle but a camping trailer riding on a single-axle off-road suspension with 17-inch wheels that is ready for use on any terrain. It’s designed and built in Australia but, don’t worry, the company that makes it is happy to ship it to the United States for about $5,000.

Okay. Let's start with the cons. It's true that the Russian-made Avtoros Shaman 8x8 is kind of large for the city. And no matter how easy they make parking, those huge tires will be costly too. And so will the fuel economy of nine mpg. Then again, if you're ready to spend a minimum of $210,000 on your preferred eight-wheeler, those shouldn't be factors. Especially knowing what's on the plus side.

It's amphibious! That can come handy if you own a large swamp, or half of Siberia. Then, there's the engine. It's a three-liter Iveco diesel. A trusty, proven Italian design. And yes, a top speed of 44 mph is plenty enough when you seven, or even more friends with you, peeking through the escape hatch while you conquer the wilderness.

Last but not least, the towing capacity. Over 31,000 lbs. That's a lot of lumber.
