Joining George today is Hugh Riley the man behind That Channel in Toronto. That Channel is the alternative media sensation that has rocked the scence in the big smoke.
Hugh Reilly is the founder of ThatChannel.com, a pioneer in internet broadcasting that began streaming audio in 2004 and made the transition to video in 2007. Broadcasting from a 2500 square foot studio in the heart of downtown Toronto, ThatChannel claims to “specialize in everything” and has interviewed over 10,000 people including business people, musicians, artists, presidential and prime-ministerial candidates, cabinet ministers, health professionals, athletes, members of the clergy, activists - even conspiracy theorists like David Icke and our own George Freund.
Dedicated to “changing the world and having as much fun as possible (not necessarily in that order), ThatChannel continues to be a “shining city atop a hill”, a true independent media voice offering all people the chance to have their say and input into the great public issues of the day. Please checkout the website: ThatChannel.com or subscribe to them on Youtube and Facebook.
Hugh’s post secondary studies include both Business Administration and Technical Communication and is a former contributor to the University of Toronto’s McLuhan Program where he worked to develop specific business strategies based on the media insights of Marshall McLuhan. A natural economist, Hugh has served on the board of directors of two Canadian credit unions, a not-for-profit ISP, and was the director of communications for a dot com startup. Hugh has worked for all three Toronto daily newspapers, and was the founding publisher of TransForum, the print predecessor of ThatChannel.com. Hugh took four days to ride his bicycle from Montreal to Toronto, and plays bass in a number of bands ranging from country to acid jazz.
