Photos have emerged of two of the 23 rifles found inside Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock's hotel room, which he used to rain down death on a crowd of 22,000 attending a music festival on Sunday.
The photos, obtained by Boston 25, show a fully-automatic weapon and a semi-automatic weapon that appears to be modified to be fully automatic. Fully-automatic weapons allow the shooter to unleash bullet after bullet simply by holding down the trigger, with pauses only to refill ammunition. With these weapons, Paddock would have been capable of firing hundreds of rounds per minute into the crowd.
Both appear to be AR-15-style assault rifles, a weapon originally designed for use by the American military.
In the two pictures, they are seen laid out on a bed inside the the hotel room. One is seen next to a full magazine, dozens of spent bullets and a hammer - which the 64-year-old shooter allegedly used to shatter two windows in the room, which he then used to fire out of onto the crowd below.
Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival just after 10pm Sunday night, killing at least 59 and injuring 527.
It took police 72 minutes to zero in on Paddock's hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across the street from the festival.
They say he had cameras set up in the hallway so he would know when authorities arrived. Paddock continued to fight even as police breached his room - firing through the front door at officers. But by the time the SWAT team finally made it into the room, Paddock had killed himself.
Inside the nest: The smashed windows from the suite taken out by Paddock at the Mandalay Hotel in Las Vegas
I haven't seen one picture here that definitively proves gunshot injuries or fatalities. I'm old enough to remember Vietnam. Press photography was very graphic. There was no doubt. This seems all implied. Look at the broken our windows and how far apart they are. There's no way he could have gone from one to another. Witnesses on the ground report two shooters. That jives with the evidence. Who's even to say Paddock was even one of them. At first they said he was shot by the police. Then they say he killed himself. I'd say he was already dead and set up as a patsy with a lot of guns left around him. He was killed for what he knew about missing defense money. The crime allowed the FBI to seize and secure any evidence of that. His name and reputation are tarnished. The deep state can disarm we the people by their request and seize control of the nation. It was a brilliant operation. People still fall for these types of things. They always have. The five corporations that own the media will peddle the lies just like they did with Operation Mockingbird.
