It is unfortunate that due to serious time constraints I was not able to work on the Nutcracker Google doodle. The conspiracy tean were thrown numerous curve balls over the last few weeks that included working extra hard to get a backup studio on the go. Most off the research time was spent on the Sandy Hook shooting.

The Nutcracker is supposed to be a children's story per se, but adult themes pervade. Magical toys are given to a child. The most important is of course the nutcracker. It is purposely broken. At the magic hour of twelve the recipient tending to the toy sees it turn to life along with gingerbread men and mice. There is a battle. The Nutcracker leads the gingerbread soldiers and tin soldiers. Dolls carry away the wounded. The child, Clara, throws her slipper at the Mouse King allowing the Nutcracker to stab him. The Nutcracker turns into a Prince. He leads Clara into a forest.

The next act is a dream sequence. There is much dancing. Mother Gigogne's children emerge from under her dress. The land of sweets begins to disappear one by one. The prince returns to size. Clara awakens. Was it a dream? The Prince's crown is beside her.

Was this the summation of Sandy Hook. There was a battle between rival gangs of drug dealers the soldiers. The wounded were carried away. Clara was led into the forest like the 'woodcutter.' Nancy Lanza's children emerged. The sweets disappeared one by one as they were shot. Clara awakes to the possibilty it was a dream. The crown on the floor says no.

Did Adam Lanza think he was in a dream world of psychotic fantasy created by the military industrial complex? Was the fleeing man the nutcraker? The Google doodle seems to have morphed into an ex post facto code.

The world is a stage and every actor including Google plays their part.
