For my Canada Day 'holiday' I decided to do a little review of the great Canadian philosopher Marshall McLuhan. He was the most provocative thinker of my younger years. So I had heard of him and caught the tail end of his contributions to the styles of media and how they have actually formed and shaped the thoughts and ideas in your mind. I have been an advocate of the resistance to the mass mainstream mind control for a good portion of my life. I dared ask the question from my teen years while watching a TV news report from overseas. I dared wonder if the presenter was telling the truth. How could I possibly know or verify what was being reported? I couldn't. I had to take it on faith. I knew people were prone to lie so my road of doubt was born.
"Electric information environments, being utterly ethereal, foster the illusion of the world as a spiritual substance. It is now a reasonable facsimile of the mystical body, a blatant manifestation of the Anti-Christ. After all, the Prince of this World is a very great electric engineer."
McLuhan letters 1969
That statement opened my eyes to the present day struggle with what we call the fake news. I was fully aware of Operation Mockingbird where the CIA spent hundreds of millions of dollars to control public opinion. This was a Nixon era revelation. I marvelled at my fellow man that he could be so naive to think that powerful forces wouldn't rule with the crack of the whip like in ancient times, but that a subtle and voluntary form of mind control would be applied to us to massage public opinion and create a reality that was manufactured by a deep, dark force that existed in the shadows. It has been termed the deep state or shadow government by many, but McLuhan went further. He said it was a blatant manifestation of Anti-Christ. That should shake you to the foundations of your soul, but for many they have been manipulated by the Prince of the World, Satan, for so long they have actually forfeited their soul to the infamous tube as Howard Beale eulogized in the movie Network.
Howard Beale: [laughing to himself] But, man, you're never going to get any truth from us. We'll tell you anything you want to hear; we lie like hell. We'll tell you that, uh, Kojak always gets the killer, or that nobody ever gets cancer at Archie Bunker's house, and no matter how much trouble the hero is in, don't worry, just look at your watch; at the end of the hour he's going to win. We'll tell you any shit you want to hear. We deal in *illusions*, man! None of it is true! But you people sit there, day after day, night after night, all ages, colors, creeds... We're all you know. You're beginning to believe the illusions we're spinning here. You're beginning to think that the tube is reality, and that your own lives are unreal. You do whatever the tube tells you! You dress like the tube, you eat like the tube, you raise your children like the tube, you even *think* like the tube! This is mass madness, you maniacs! In God's name, you people are the real thing! *WE* are the illusion! So turn off your television sets. Turn them off now. Turn them off right now. Turn them off and leave them off! Turn them off right in the middle of the sentence I'm speaking to you now! TURN THEM OFF...
I remember reading in one of the great self help books
a line that went everything I needed to know I learned in Kindergarten. It was a bit of a shock to realize many things adults do are totally contrary to those sage lessons. I guess the best lesson was learning to share and then to behave in a civilized fashion. One of the great challenges was musical chairs. Who could have thought about the rat race and business models based on competition as opposed to cooperation? However, one of the most important lessons was the teacher telling us to put our thinking caps on. I tried never to take it off actually and challenged and analyzed data my whole life. I'm amazed that the bulk of society just lets other people do their thinking for them and just repeat like parrots what they say. I guess they're in a great rush to get to the TV for a little more 'programming.
I gave up on TV some time ago. There were few channels in the rural area I lived in and the shows seemed to be getting worse and worse even in prime time. Sex, violence and criminality were the main themes. It was a turn off. Even though I didn't understand the significance my moral compass was aimed towards books and learning. One of the great object lessons was the theme of globalization. That was a conspiracy theory in Satan's kingdom of the air, but political science in the library. The more I learned the more committed I became in understanding that any world government would be tailored to be the Anti-Christ's world. Then I realized why the Bible was being removed from the curriculum of schools. If you were exposed to it, your thinking cap would be that much more able to see we were under the spell of a mass deception operation. McLuhan was quite correct. The air waves are the realm of the Anti-Christ. I participated in a lot in talk radio where the lies were finely spun. I thought I had great revelations of truth to share. I learned that I was persona non grata in Satan's kingdom.
McLuhan was quite correct in his dialectic. The media exists all around us. We swim in the airwaves which at first were messages actually transmited primarily through the air until they were bundled in cables that could at first be the wires of the telegraph that McLuhan postulated was one of the great epochs in human development to lead to our enslavement in the electronic information age. He opined that the phonetic alphabet was the first. The pictographic language that this writer still interprets was a more liberating format that invoked all the senses in harmony. The phonetic alphabet removed them from the lexicon and substituted only the sense of sight. In the earlier format, an aural means of communication and interpretation, that was paramount. The phonetic alphabet also seperated various cultures of man with the language barrier.
The next advance in the block chain of mind programming was the Gutenberg press
. At that point the phonetic alphabet would be mass produced. However, there was an information war between good and evil that still exists to this day. There are forces aligned to take us to the world of Anti-Christ, and there are the resisters such as myself. From the very first day I heard the term New World Order I realized that we were dealing with the establishment of Satan's realm and the enslavement of the human race. I still had much to learn about the battlefields. I learned through trial and error that the Prince of the Air ruled the media already. Any venture there put me behind enemy lines. I became a partisan fighter an information guerrila. I understood military strategy and developed hit and run tactics. Words were my weapons, and I wielded them well. I called them information bombs and truth grenades. The blast of either could mesmerize the enemy and liberate his captive minds. The battle was on. There were many great victories. The enemy started to shudder even panic.
Our tactics were unwittingly McLuhan all media...are extensions of man that cause deep and lasting changes in him and transform his environment. So by operating in Satan's air we became the media and countered his mind control viruses with anti-viral programming. Of course, the castle gates were closed to us as much as possible. I had the rare distinction of having many local radio programs re-engineered to prevent such infiltration. In fact one evening when George Bush came to Toronto to receive an honorary degree I actually got Toronto's top talk station to suspend the message and resort to music. There were only three of us, but we were muskateers none the less.
On one show I challenged the neocon's greatest phonetic weapon of you're either with us or against us. In that version there were only two sides permitted. You were on George Bush's side or Osama Bin Laden's. Of course that tilted the scales to the president leading us to Anti-Christ's New World Order by force. I needed a third acceptable side and fast. While waiting for my turn, it came to me. I set up an ambush in enemy territory and lured the host in. We engaged in debate until my non committal made him livid. He kept shouting at me over and over again, "Whose side are you on." Then I fired my phonetic weapon. I'm on the side of Jesus Christ. He lost it. He called me a God damned Christian and hung up on me so hard the bell in the phone rang. The battle was won. The concept lost power. My message was the medium.
The verbal message can take precedence because it operates in what McLuhan called acoustic space which involves all the senses. That is what made operations in enemy territory so effective. He described the aural sense as kaleidoscopic. That is why the radio is still such a powerful weapon and music another are of contention
. The youth are programmed
with ever more devolutionary styles of music. The cadence can be used to anesthetize the mind and actually rewire the bioelectric hard drive. As a rule, I forego styles in popular music and prefer blasts from the past which can stimulate the senses as opposed to shutting them down. McLuhan believed, and I agree completely that media puts people into a state of self hypnosis that he termed Nacissus Narcosis. Even the written word can cause the typographic trance. Those of us trying to liberate minds actually observe that in the glassy eyed stares of people we try to wake up. I coined the term reverse spin doctor to better describe our roles. We are actually acting like doctors to remove a powerful psychotronic weapon's effects from your subconscious mind.
"...man must as a simple survival strategy, become aware of what is happening to him, despite the attendant PAIN of such comprehension."
Those of us reverse spin doctors committed to the cause have observed this. The victim experiences severe emotional pain at the realization that their world view was an artifically programmed meme. That accounts for the stages of truth as postulated by Schopenhauer. The CIA coined the term conspiracy theory which acted as an organized form of ridicule as a means to debase critical thinkers looking into the Kennedy assassination. It was a winner so they stuck with it through the 9/11 attacks. Those adequately conditioned will get very angry when their world view is challenged. We keep pressing to be appreciated as self evident. I'm thankful I had training in cult awareness in my younger years because this is precisely how the effect is metastasized in the mind. It is an artificial thought cancer that permeates through a society from host to host. The modern term echo chamber in regards to the 'truths' of a society are the proof. The childhood classic of I heard it on TV cinches the matter. The TV is the oracle of truth to the entranced. To others the message is sublime. We see the hidden nuances and take defensive as well as offensive measures.
R.D. Laing's masterpiece The Divided Self comes to mind. He extrapolated the concept of the false self from the more original schizoid personality developed in a Manchurian assassin. Dr. Wilhelm Kuetemeyer's 1944 experiments at the University of Heidelberg were a forerunner. His associate, Volkmar Schmidt, befriended Lee Oswald by the way. Laing used the term the false self to describe a divided personality. Media can and does create an alternative worldview. In your trance state you willingly accept it and become a devotee. It takes some degree of persistence to wake people from the illusion. Laing stated that to the individual the process was like dying, and they would actually use any means necessary including violence to resist the removal of the false paradigm.
That can be commonly observed in what is termed senseless crime. To the uninitiated there is no rhyme or reason. To the student of the fractures of the mind it is quite evident what has happened. To the devious a special condition can be manufactured in the human mind to achieve a specific goal like an assassination or mass casualty game changing event. The subject is programmed to suicide frequently and can be switched on or off with a certain message like a duck in a noose used by the beltway sniper
. The media virtually hypnotizes us into the narcossis where we blithely accept whatever they wish us to be. Of course, alternative media is the elixir to abort the process. Since the Prince of the World is behind the programming, we know he is not leading us to salvation but to the New World Order of the Anti-Christ that McLuhan alluded to at the start.
In this humble servant's mind, the key to victory requires one simple action. You must change the channel. If you do, it will be the easiest war ever fought and won. McLuhan said most people were blissfully ignorant of what the media do to them; unaware that because of their pervasive effects on man. it is the medium itself that is the message, not the content, and unaware...it literally works over and saturates and molds and transforms every sense ratio.
When we were children our parents warned us not to take candy from strangers. We learned it was the bait of the child predator. However, when we grew up we threw away this tenet principle. We willingly take in all manner of media that has been designed to enslave us through popular memes on the air. We gobble it up so easily it is truly frightening. However, with discernment we can see through the illusions and look for the wizard behind the screen and turn it off. We encourage free thought in the search for the truth because Christ said it would set us free. We know the truth for the pain it causes. Satan's lies are ever so sweet like the politicians tongue a gentle caress like a lover. The truth is the bitter - the killer of parasites and disease. It is an acquired taste, but it is a survival technique. Learn it well, and teach it to your children lest you die. McLuhan would appreciate the lesson being used in defense as opposed to offence. He was a Christian.
Once we liberate ourselves, we can find the path that will lead us back to Eden and away from the Prince of the World.
Darby Bible Translation
in which ye once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience:
"Instead of tending towards a vast Alexandrian library the world has become a computer, an electronic brain, exactly as an infantile piece of science fiction. And as our senses have gone outside us, Big Brother goes inside. So, unless aware of this dynamic, we shall at once move into a phase of panic terrors, exactly befitting a small world of tribal drums, total interdependence, and superimposed co-existence. [...] Terror is the normal state of any oral society, for in it everything affects everything all the time. [...] In our long striving to recover for the Western world a unity of sensibility and of thought and feeling we have no more been prepared to accept the tribal consequences of such unity than we were ready for the fragmentation of the human psyche by print culture."

The Navarre Bible New Testament Compact Edition note on Eph 2:1-10 has:
[...]. The "prince of the power of the air" (v.2) refers to the devil as the leader of superhuman powers which, according to a widely held notion at the time, dwelt in the earth's atmosphere.
"The next medium, whatever it is—it may be the extension of consciousness—will include television as its content, not as its environment, and will transform television into an art form. A computer as a research and communication instrument could enhance retrieval, obsolesce mass library organization, retrieve the individual's encyclopedic function and flip into a private line to speedily tailored data of a saleable kind."
Psalm 17:11 LXX
And he made darkness his secret place: round about him was his tabernacle, even dark water in the clouds of the air [νεφέλαις ἀέρων].
The space between heaven and earth - the "sky" - is inhabited by principalities, powers, world rulers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). John Chrysostom's explanation (4th c. Greek) for the wording here is:
Here again he means, that Satan occupies the space under Heaven, and that the incorporeal powers are spirits of the air, under his operation. For that his kingdom is of this age, i.e., will cease with the present age, hear what he says at the end of the Epistle; “Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against powers, against the world rulers of this darkness;” (Eph. vi. 12.) where, lest when you hear of world-rulers you should therefore say that the Devil is uncreated, he elsewhere (Gal. i. 4.) calls a perverse time, “an evil world,” not of the creatures. For he seems to me, having had dominion beneath the sky, not to have fallen from his dominion, even after his transgression.1
This "kingdom of the air" is a literal, not a figurative kingdom. When Christ is tempted by the devil in the wilderness, the devil offers him all the kingdoms of the world (Matthew 4:8; Luke 4:5). There is nothing in Scripture that insinuates that all this is not, in fact, Satan's to give. On the contrary: we have the testimony of John that all the world is under the power of the evil one (1 John 5:19)
"The list of objections could be and has been lengthened indefinitely: confusing technology itself with its use of the media makes of the media an abstract, undifferentiated force and produces its image in an imaginary "public" for mass consumption; the magical naivete of supposed causalities turns the media into a catch-all and contagious "mana"; apocalyptic millenarianism invents the figure of a homo mass-mediaticus without ties to historical and social context, and so on."
