South Korean experts fear the rogue state will unleash another intercontinental ballistic missile in celebration of its anniversary
South Korean experts fear the rogue state will unleash another ICB missile
They have also earmarked 10 October, anniversary of founding of ruling party
The stark predictions were made today by the Unification Ministry in Seoul
But scientists say solar storms could prevent Kim from lauching tomorrow
Kim Jong-un may be deterred from firing a missile to mark North Korea's anniversary tomorrow by solar storms.
Eruptions of mass and energy from the sun pose a threat to electronics meaning missiles could lose data or ancillary equipment.
Lance Gatling, an aerospace consultant with Nexial Research in Tokyo, said this may be enough to stop Kim unleashing another intercontinental ballistic missile in celebration of his state's anniversary.
But he said the US and Japan may be hoping for a launch so they can test detection and tracking equipment in a storm environment.
I take that to be a cover story for the deployment of a scalar weapon. If the Sun did it then the U.S. is off the hook. If North Korea attacks as a result, they are the aggressor and the Chinese are out of the picture. It's a small consolation to the people of South Korea. It would be a brutal war.
