Fort Carson is a reasonable drive south of Denver which is next to Aurora where the notorious shooting occurred at the Century 16 theatre. I don't want to insult imbeciles, but there are a lot of things that don't add up. First how does an unemployed student come up with 20 grand to buy an arsenal? Where did he get the expertise as an explosives expert to wire his home with SOPHISTICATED booby traps that took experts days to defuse? Where did he get the gas and smoke canisters? They aren't sold at sporting stores. They are police/military issue. Where did he get his explosives? They aren't openly sold either. He would have to be the master's master to cook them up at home. A witness said he never reloaded. Huh? He'd have to. A 30 round mag doesn't last long. The best answer is he had a little help from the people who have the training and equipment to do what he did. They were in town training for a terror event ending May 31.

Fort Carson is no vestal virgin to the news.
Sgt. Samuel Walker of Fort Carson was arrested in a plot to supply military grade weapons to the Zeta drug cartel in Mexico. The weapons included the AR15 variant of the M16 service rifle.
